I was so excited to photograph Libby and Paul’s wedding. After meeting with them to discuss their big day in more detail I knew they were my kind of couple! I was so pleased to shoot at The West Mill in Derby, having been there before as a guest it was my first time shooting at this stunning wedding venue.
I arrived nice and early to grab some bridal prep shots, Libby and her girls were giggling over a glass of fizz whilst having their make-up done in beautiful prep room at The West Mill. It was so nice to work alongside some familiar faces (and friends in the bizz) including Jennifer Lee Make-up artist who is amazingly talented!
Libby was such a stunning bride, I could have photographed her all week! Her Morilee by Madeline Gardner gown was just beautiful. With her sister and her best mates by her side she got ready in a very relaxed manner and the girls along with Libby’s Mum and Dad will have some wonderful memories from that morning that they will treasure forever. I love photographing bridal prep as you can feel the buzz of excitement and anticipation for the day ahead.
As for Paul and his groomsmen, what a fab bunch. Paul was also super chilled and was so brilliant to photograph alongside his boys. We didn’t stop laughing throughout their pre-wedding photos!
The venue looked stunning as always, the West Mill is certainly a venue worth checking out if you are after something a little different, I certainly agree with Libby and Paul’s early thoughts when I say the team are amazing and nothing is too much trouble, they make you feel welcome and it showed on all of the happy guest’s faces. The cake and the sweet treats by Ruby Lou’s cakes were so pretty and complimented the beautiful styling of their big day.
It is a tough call but the highlights of the day for me just have to be the big sing-a-long during the service, it was amazing and so much fun, the very comical home video (played during speeches) of Libby and her sister as children taking part in a stage show. Myself and videographer Lara along with the new Mr & Mrs had an amazing walk around the venue grounds during ‘golden hour’. I had to discourage Libby from leaping a fence in her amazing dress and there was lots of laughing and muscle talk, the resulting images are stunningly pretty.
Here are just a few faves from the day. Libby and Paul…Mr & Mrs M….you rock
