Wedding Photography at The Boathouse, Aston Marina

We are so spoilt in Staffordshire for beautiful wedding venues. I love shooting weddings at the The Boathouse, Aston Marina near Stone. As one of their recommended suppliers I get to shoot there regularly and that makes me happy. It is also lovely as it is right on my doorstep too.

I love photographing the wedding morning preparations, it is such a fun part of the day for both the boys and the girls. Surrounded by their nearest and dearest rallying around (some more relaxed than others!) to help them get ready for the wedding day of their dreams. The air is filled with nervous excitement and anticipation for the day ahead.

I arrived at Helen’s and Ian’s house for the prep shots, the girls were giggling over a glass of Moet whilst having their make-up done in the sun-filled conservatory. The day had been planned with military precision (Ian!) and it worked SO well. The girls were at home first so we had some time to get some fun bridal prep shots then the girls left and the boys arrived! It was so nice to capture both the bride and then the groom at their house. We even got Nikita the cat involved too…she wasn’t too impressed.

Ian and Helen both surprised each other with gifts on the morning of the wedding, the speeches had everyone laughing and crying in equal measure and were very touching. Helen even bucked the trend and gave a bride’s speech too!

The blush pink wedding details over at The Boathouse were amazing. I was in photographer’s heaven. The table plan was epic and was designed by the groom himself – very clever! My favourite moment was when the couple DANCED their way through the ‘confetti’ shower. Helen and Ian have so many close friends and we made sure we included them in plenty of fun group shots that the couple can treasure.

During the reception, you could feel the love and closeness shared not just by the couple, but by every single person in the room. The overriding emotion was one of joy, Helen and Ian laughed and joked their way through the day right through to first dance. They didn’t stop laughing, smiling and embracing their day whole heartedly, it was a pleasure to be a part of it all.

Congrats to Mr & Mrs B 🙂 You make for one good-looking couple!
