I was fortunate enough at this wedding to photograph a little of both the bride and groom prep! I met up with Ben and bestman Ali at The Dog & Doublet in Sandon then in a thick storm of snow drove to meet up with Marie and the girls at The Boathouse at Aston Marina, SCORE! Getting to photograph them was a real pleasure and prior to the ceremony they both talked about their excitement at becoming Mr & Mrs.
I photographed Ben & Marie’s engagement session (along with their beautiful doggy Ted) a few months prior and that had been a great chance to get to know each other more and help them relax in front of the camera when it came to the big day.
Despite their wedding being the tail end of the ‘Beast from the East’ we managed to get Ben & Marie outside and capture some beautiful (quick!) couple portraits. It was a pleasure to work with Emma and Ryan from Jolly Good wedding videos again too.
My two favourite moments had to be 1) when all the lads came and grabbed the groom and started chucking him into the air, completely unexpected but made for some hilarious photographs that I am sure they will cherish, those images certainly make me smile! 2) when it bucketed it down so we stepped just outside the door and grabbed some kissing shots of the bride and groom whilst getting so covered in snow (and it all blowing into the lovely warm cosy Boathouse!)
A big shout out to groom Ben too for saving some of my expensive camera equipment from sliding off a collapsing table and hitting the floor! Fast as lightening!
